Week Three of base training in the books and really the only thing I can complain about is the weather and I will try not to since we are all locked in this endless winter together. I am happy with how my legs held up with the bump in milage and excited to keep building up my base.
This is how the week went down:
———–
Monday: Woke up feeling tired and sore from the previous Sunday’s long run so just hopped on the treadmill for a couple miles and some strength training.
Tuesday: The weather has still been not so fun here in Colorado so I ran eight miles on the treadmill. This was a big accomplishment for me mentally as I am out of mental shape for running on the treadmill. I used to have a lot more tolerance for it but I am slowing bringing it back up.
Wednesday: Another two miles on the treadmill as a warm up for some strength training. Watched the Bachelor for my entertainment. It’s a weird season.
Thursday: I was not feeling spunky so just a mile on the treadmill. I think I all the running inside is getting to me. Also did some stretching and stability work.
Friday: Cory had the day off so I waiting until nap time and actually got to run outside!! It was cold and windy but so worth it for the fresh air for five miles.
Saturday: It was crazy windy and after freezing on Friday I didn’t feel up to running outside so I jumped on the treadmill for 3 miles. I watched From Fat to Finish Line
Sunday: So glad to be back to Sunday long run days! I slept in (until 5:30 when Emmy wakes up, good thing she is cute!) but wasn’t happy about losing an hour over night. I waited until Emerald went down for her morning nap so I would have more light. It was a pleasant 30 degrees and not TOO windy for a ten mile run. It was a slow run but my legs never felt too bad so I am going to call it a win!

Totals: 31.1 miles running ( Over half of those miles on the treadmill) and 2 strength training sessions.
The goal for this coming week is to follow the plan as written and drink 100 oz of water a day

Wow sleeping in is 5:30?? Kudos to you for getting so many treadmill miles in-that is quite the mental challenge! We just binge watched the widow on amazon prime it was so good. Thanks for linking up w us for weekly run down. Looking forward to connecting with you more

Ohhhhh, thanks for the tip about the window. Hopefully the treadmill will get some rest soon!

I know how those treadmill runs feel LOL I have built up my treadmill tolerance…but I think it’s now maxed out. I can’t make every ‘mill run an interval workout, so it’s a good thing the frigid temps appear to be moving outta here (I’m in Iowa). I usually run outside, year-round, so t his winter has really been challenging being in side far more than usual. Thanks for joining us on the WRD link-up!

This winter has been more intense than I am used to so I can’t wait to be back outside BUT it’s sure better than nothing!

Thanks so much for linking up ! You’re doing great!
I am not one for the treadmill, so kudos to you for the long miles you were able to put in on them. Obviously the weather is not optimal for outdoor running for you, but in Florida, there’s only a very short period of time where one can’t get outside (hurricane season).
I also don’t watch a lot of TV, so I don’t know what I would watch on a treadmill. Right now, the only thing I am holding out for is the final season of Game of Thrones.

Good for you for not watching much TV, I watched the Bachelor this season and I could feel myself losing IQ points. Seriously jealous of Florida weather now, but I am a wimp about humidity so I would probably be hiding inside in the summer.

Great mileage, too bad a lot of it was inside! I always think that treadmill miles count for more than outside miles simply because you have to be so mentally strong to get through them! Also? You get more badass points for doing it. So well done!
I don’t run on the treadmill (I’d have to go to the gym anyway for that and I just am way out of the treadmill game I don’t think I could even start). I’m curious/amazed how people are able to watch shows and concentrate on running at the same time!
My training is going all right but it’s coming to a close soon. Only 11 more days until my foot surgery.

I do feel like having a treadmill in our basement has been a game changer, I don’t think I would have the motivation to go to the gym. I really hope your surgery goes well and that recovery is speedy!!!
