Life // Things have just been chugging along lately which is nice with so much change last year. Life has just been about family, work, training and spending time watching movies with our pups. I am ready for winter to be over, I shouldn’t complain since we need the snow and would hate to have a drought but I always get impatient this time of year for spring. All the advertisements show flowers, sundresses and sunshine while the weather report shows highs in the teens and feet of snow.
Career // I can’t believe I have been in my new job for a month already, the time has just flown by! I really love what I am doing and feel at home with the people I work with and the students. My commute is beautiful and I feel very lucky to work with such amazing brilliant people.
Reading // I am currently reading two books, I am almost done with Pam Reeds The Extra Mile
and The Forgotten Garden I haven’t gotten very far with this book yet but my mom said that she loved it and couldn’t put it down.
Training // after a couple months of base training on my own I have started training with a coach again. I am working with Beth Gerdes, super mom, professional triathlete, very supportive and all around kick ass person. I really think working with a coach is the best money spent on triathlon, it saves me a lot of time and it’s nice to have someone to obsess about your data with.
Lot’s of training has been happening inside or out in the frigid cold. I am ready for spring! It will be nice when I can run out the door of my office to hit the trails without putting on 17 layers.
Eating // I found the best kale chips at Costco and am loving them!
Also I am trying to eat clean, but it’s SO hard after a 20 mile run not to fall face first into a double cheese burger!

Glad to hear things are going well, Beth, and that you’re loving your new gig! Such a good feeling, right?! Totally agree about having a coach… best investment ever! You and Beth will be a great team… excited to follow your IM Canada journey! Counting the days ’til spring, too… 🙂

It sounds like things are going really well. I’m glad to hear that you are really loving your new job and are fitting in well with the staff and students. Hopefully it gives you some flexibility to train as well. That is awesome that Beth is coaching you – she has inspired me so much through her pregnancy and then bouncing back into kicking butt in the triathlon world. I SOOO wish i could be joining you in Canada this year — but don’t you worry — I will be cheering you on all.day.long!
