It is Cannon’s very last day at his current school and I am feeling ALL the feels. I know I am just emotional because Cannon and Emerald are growing up so so fast.
We started the day with a swim lesson, Cannon has come so far since we started here and I am so proud and excited for him.
After swim lessons we went to Staples to pick up invitations for Cannon’s birthday party.
Cannon has had small, family only parties for the last two years. This year he really wanted to invite his entire class so we rented out the biggest pavilion we could at the local water park and we are excited to celebrate Cannon big this year.
When we got home I worked on our school boards for the last day of school.
Then we took photos to celebrate the end of this school year.
I love these boards and documenting how they change every year.
This has been the most “normal” year for Cannon since he started school in 2019 with just a couple short quarantines due to Covid.
We are so looking forward to summer together and all our adventures but Cannon will miss his classmates so he excited and sad at the same time.
I packed Cannon’s sweet little snack box one last time, and tried not to feel sad about it. I was excited for Cannon to enjoy his last day. Sadly his teacher called me about half way through his day letting me know that he had gotten sick and should be picked up.
I have never seen Cannon so pale and sad. It was such a bummer way to end the year, we aren’t sure what caused him to get so ill since he was completely fine when we dropped him off. We spoke to his doctor and she thinks it’s probably something he ate given that he didn’t have a fever so we are keeping hope alive that this isn’t a new virus we are fighting.
Cannon fell asleep on the couch early and started feeling better after his nap.
I was feeling like Emmy hadn’t been getting as much of my attention lately because of all of the errands for Cannon so while Cannon slept we played in the yard and enjoyed a picnic dinner together. It was really nice to have some time to focus on her and enjoy her funny personality.
I remembered while I was putting Cannon to bed that night that we started the school year with a stomach bug so I guess we are ending the way we started. The one lasted a few days so hopefully this one is easier.
When do kids get out of school where you live?
