I was up early to get my PT in and a little run. This time of year always has me looking forward to running outside in the mornings on cool(ish) summer mornings.
But for now it’s frigid dark mornings outside and time in the basement (super grateful for this gym even if outside is better).
I have been thinking a lot about time vs. distance and found this great article:
https://www.trailrunnermag.com/training/whats-better-training-by-time-or-by-distance/
I have gone back and forth about this a lot. The gist of the article is that you should do what works for you so that you can be consistent. For me when I am starting out/coming back time is often best because running just a mile or two feels different from what I used to be able to do. Once I have a good base and am training for a specific race then I think it’s best to switch to distance to be sure I am prepared for that race.
That’s just what I think works best for me….what works best for you?
Happy Training!
