I finally tackled Lefthand Canyon today. If you are from Colorado you have probably heard of Lefthand Canyon, it’s a fairly long steady climb. It was suggest by Coach Charley and seemed like a great challenge to take on.
It was a long climb and a long descent.
We rode through Ward which is this crazy little mountain town, I am bummed we don’t have any pictures of it. We aren’t very good at taking photos while riding.
Lucky for us the weather was nice and mild and the views were beautiful.
On the way down we passed Hall Ranch Trail where we like to run when we need to get in some hills.
It was a challenging climb and I would love to take it on again.
Do you have a favorite ride?

Ha, I always refer to Ward as “where cars go to die.” Doesn’t there seem to be an excessive amount of dead cars on the side of the road compared to the population of that town?!
Still never rode Lefthand but you might have pushed the envelope a little further for me!

Sounds like a great ride! I have lots of favorites – one of the best from last year was in the gorge – Cherry of a Ride.

I’ve never rode Lefthand before, looks pretty steep for whimpy biking me. I did make it up Lookout Mt. a few times, but it was really slow. Nice job on the climb! 🙂

Just found your blog through SR. I used to live and teach in Longmont and Lefthand was a staple for me when training. I am excited to follow your training and get some ideas for places to ride and run when I am down visiting my mom.
