Running outside this time of year is not as easy for me as it is in the summer. It’s cold, sometimes icy and dark when I normally have time to run in the mornings.
Summer trail sunrises are the best!
Even though it is harder I am trying really hard this year to get outside more and run outside in the winter because so much research has shown that being outside is good for us, especially in the morning as we start our day. In the spring/summer I am really hoping to take my post run strength and stretching out into the back yard while the kids play but it’s too icy and cold for me at the moment.
I love running in my trail shoes in the winter if I am running on ice or snow for added traction.
I just got and am loving THIS fleece top from Amazon. Also love This jacket, vest, lined tights and headband.
I love both Stance socks and Smart Wool both of these brands of kept my feet happy and warm.
I am not too picky about gloves as my hands warm up quickly while running so these Head gloves have worked for me for years. Puffer gloves work wonders if it’s really cold, also great for skiing!
And when it’s really terrible out there is no shame in the treadmill game. We love our NordicTrack, we got it used nine years ago and it’s still working great. Both Cory and I have put some serious training in on this thing!
Please share some winter favorites with me to help inspire me to get out there!
